Pause Ponder and Pokey

"On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me six ladies having a bizarre break with tea"

Okay that was mine. Pretty lame, huh? Let's see what you guys came up with this week.

My dear pal Quirkyloon - I think she's actually in the picture - exercised her funny bone with:

"You put the wiggle here,
you put the jiggle out,
you put the wiggle and it gets shaken all about!
You do the Jiggle Pokey and it turns you all around...
that's what it's all about! clap, clap"

Renal Failure gave us a real workout with:

Penny Marshall cut this scene out of A League of Their Own for reasons that are all too obvious...

My good pal Ray over on Facebook pumped things up with his effort:

Must be tryouts for the 1930 Chicago Bears Cheerleaders

And leave it to Ziva to "work it" with:

Ladies synchronized bondage - it's all in the matching outfits.

But Leeuna had me aspiring to be perspiring with her winning missive:

"The FDA recently approved the use of the belt sander as a tool for waist reduction. Side effects may include blood and tissue loss and extreme pain. May cause scarring."

W00T, W00T (do they still say that - whoever "they" are?) Leeuna, you be the lucky captionista who be hangin' with dufus this week. Congratulations.

Thanks to all for playing along. C'mon back next week and bring your friends.

It took me a while to come up with that one. I'm honored to be hangin' with dufus this week. All the comments were hilarious.

Well, boo! I missed the caption contest. I bet you'd like playing "Captcha Balderdash" on my site! I do it a couple of times a month. It CRACKS ME UP! Basically, people make up definitions of the Captcha word they've been given when they leave a comment. Here's the link: http://kelleysbreakroom.blogspot.com/2010/08/captcha-balderdash-2_11.html. I hope you'll stop by & play. :)

Don: That's back in the day when vibrators were for losing weight. I don't think these ones gave personal gratification.

KABLOOEY: Yeah, I wonder how long they had to go on those things?

00dozo: And people think it can be painful to lose weight nowadays. Look what these women had to go through.

Leeuna: Congratulations, congratulations. Great caption.

Kelly: I'll have to come by. I've done several posts defining captchas myself.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
