If you've ever been to a marina you'll have seen some nifty names that boat owners have painted on the back side (that'd be aft for all you sailors) of their boat. The Associated Press reported earlier this week that the city of Salisbury Massachusetts has a new poop sloop. Yeah. Uh-huh. That's a boat that travels from boat to boat and pumps out onboard septic systems. An unreasonable facsimile After reviewing hundreds of suggestions the Harbor Commission settled on the name Down Winder. There were apparently plenty of clever suggestions from the public. They included Poo Bear, Pumpty Dumpty, Poop Sloop and Dung Dingy. I can think of a few more.
