Pause Ponder and Petting In The Park

Well, another week another collection of crazy captions. There's so much else going on in the world - riots in London, cement bridges falling apart in Montreal, a band of Republican idiots debating (and I use the word loosely) in Iowa including Minnesota Twins Tim "Pawlenty of barbs"and Michele "Bachmann turned into overdrive" - that I'm happy to see you guys know where your priorities lie. Right here, with Pause Ponder and Pun!

So let's get down to business. Once again you've taken an odd and silly picture and turned it into a thing of, well, oddness and silliness. Good on ya! Or in the case of this week's picture, good on her! Let's see what you came up with...

At the fairground, Joseph paid $3 to take a ride on the Hefty Lady

Reverse Lap Dance. It's when you get your money back

The Craigslist ad simply said "Looking for the top layer of our reverse Oreo cookie"

Those captions are all excellent but our winner's caption has a certain je ne sais quoi to it. Which loosely translated means "nay, he said what?"

Whitey

Way to go bro. You be hangin' with dufus this week. Well Sunday at least. I'll put the Coronas on ice. Now come and get your dogs.

Thanks to everyone for your great captions, too many to list them all here. See you all Wednesday with another odd and silly pic.

Hmmm ... I may rethink my gaining weight issue after this one.

He is cruel. He dropped his dogs off with me Friday and he's not coming back until Sunday to get them! Aw, but they're good.

Hey, what I do in the privacy of my own barn is my own business.

Many thanks to dufus and the dufollowers. And to the dufamily for putting up with my humour in person over the weekend.

Oops, did I say that out loud?

The "dufollowers"? You make it sound like there's only 2 of them! By the way, you're the first winner to actually, literally, hang with dufus. Now I'm out of Corona.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
