Pause Ponder and Paris Hilton Ladies and Gentlemen

I think Paris was in Poland or Prussia or Pittsburgh or Peoria - one of those "p" places this week. But the busy celebretard wasn't too busy to say "I think dufus is HOT!" Well thank you my dear. From one noname to another it's nice of you to put in a petit Paris plug on behalf of your old pal dufus and his Pause Ponder and Pun. (Okay that paragraph has so many "p"s in it it's starting to get damp in here.)

So how's everyone doin' this week. I see you're all in fine form. And we have some new players this week, too. Welcome aboard guys. Okay, all, it's time to see who did what to whom...

After the 3rd Transformer movie, Optimus Prime really let himself go.

This top is cutting off circulation to my moobs.

Wolverine, pre 'roids.
Vaguemax

Since leaving The View, Rosie O'Donnell has really let herself go.

Those were all good ones guys. But our last two, instead of having them duke it out in the forum for supremacy, I've decided to award them a tie. My closet's full of them. I'll never miss it.

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderthighs

Gene Simmons mingles with the crowd at the KISS reunion concert.
Skeeter

Now 00dozo's an old hand at this. That's okay double "O" I'm a gentleman. I won't let on how old. And Skeeter's been bustin' his chops week after week to try and win this thing. Skeeter, today's your lucky day.
Congrats to you both. Good on ya. You guys be hangin' with dufus this week. Say I know what we can do. Halloween's coming. Let's go shopping for costumes. A toga maybe for 00dozo? A Gladiator's outfit for Skeeter? It'd highlight your legs, guy. I'm thinking of dressing up as the Ottawa Senators mascot "Spartacat" (cute, eh?) Then after we can get together for drinks; maybe have a little posca brought to us by beautiful serving girls and for O a hunky Spartan or two... Oh, did I say that out loud?

See ya next week.

An outstanding line-up of captions this week, as usual.

Boom Boom I loved your caption "Sadly, George mixed up the dates for the Bondage Festival and his son's Little League picnic." But it came too late to be included in the results post. Sorry about that.

Shawn, you left a good group of captions this week, just under the wire.

Heh heh. I knew 00dozo had it! I was totally thinking of Mad Max too, but she beat me to it. hee hee

Good game everybody!

And not only is it a little damp in here Dufus, it's starting to smell. Might I recommend some Febreeze? hee hee

Congrats, Skeeter! I am honoured to have such a talented co-winner and am looking forward to seeing you in your "Spartan" costume.

And, congrats to the honourables!

Thanks, dufus. Oh, and I can certainly do 'toga', but I'm not too sure what cats have to do with the Sens but I'm sure you'd wear it well.

Posca? Sounds like ancient Roman 'Screetch'. Speaking of which, I thought of another caption which I couldn't quite word properly. It involved a cod, or kissing a cod - or, more to the point - kissing a codpiece. Oh, never mind.

I'm way ahead of you. I sprayed hours ago. It's starting to smell better. And things should dry up in time for the Sunday Funnies.

Spartacat is obviously a play on Spartacus. The Sens had a complete Roman motif when they started including calling the arena the Palladium. It's now Scotiabank Place. Money talks. I love the joke, even if you haven't fully formulated it. It got a rise out of me.

Oh, I knew about the Sens and the Spartans motif tingum, I just can't figure where a cat comes in as a mascot. Wasn't it the Romans and not the Spartans that were thrown to the lions? Eh, no worries. Just grow a big beard (you really don't want to wear that ridiculous head, do you??).
00dozo said…
My bad ... it was the Christians, not the Romans. Damn, I'm bad at at mixing shit up.

;-)
nonamedufus said…
You don't think I'd be better off a head?
nonamedufus said…
Tingum? You're calling me a pastry? I mean, yeah, sure, some people think of me as a crusty individual but you actually put a name to it.
00dozo said…
If "tingum" to you means a pastry, well then, you are a "puff pastry" - one of my favs! And I do mean that in a good way.

("Tingum" is equivalent to "thingy" here. Ah, yes. Once again, something lost in translation.)

;-)
nonamedufus said…
And here I thought it was stern of endearment. Puff indeed.
nonamedufus said…
Or maybe even a term of endearment.
00dozo said…
Puff or otherwise, I 'bow' to your greatness. (Bow/stern - get it?)

;-)
00dozo said…
Yes, it was.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows...
