American Idle

Another week, another crop of crazy captions.  I've gotta commend folks.  Week in, week out our participants demonstrate their gift for vivid imaginations.

Let' get to this week's whacky witticisms...

Quirky got us rockin' with:

David Bowie's love children band together to promote their new reality show: the Punkdashian sisters.

we took the bait let loose with:

Susan, Nicole and Donna (from left) anxiouly waiting backstage for the idols - the Wiggles - to arrive.

Ziva shook, rattled and rolled with:

Ever since Marissa decided to wear her peacock, she has single-handedly triggered more epilepsy seizures than the Teletubbies together.

And, finally, Don got down with:

The new Girl Scouts.  It's not just about the cookies anymore.

But it was Nooter who struck a chord with his winning entry:

(from the future)
now in its 28th season, as american idol struggles more than ever to keep from losing audience share, producers introduce a new segment called 'remember when'. this week, the band 'stiff nipples' performs the golden oldie 'my tattoos ate your baby'.

judge simon cowell, appearing slumped over in his wheelchair during much of the performance, finally commented 'that sounded like a monkey dancing on broken glass. it was utterly fantastic'. he then wet himself and was wheeled offstage.

Way to go Nooter.  I be howlin' and you be hangin'...with the Dufus!  Oww-wooooo!

Alas, I missed the contest this week, but that's ok there's no way I could have come up with better than what Nooter had!

Cheers Nooter, that's a great caption!

Paroxysm Paradox

The weather was unseasonably warm for October. The sun set around 6:30 but the daylight hours were quite enjoyable. So thought Richard, as he set out for his daily walk in the woods. He marvelled at the turning leaves which exhibited an explosion of colour more significant with each passing day.

But Richard knew the turning leaves would soon start to fall. And the trees would soon be bare with no leaves at all. And then the snow would fly and fall from the trees as the leaves had before it.

Richard couldn't help but think of the sudden change to come as a seizure of sorts. And he wasn't looking forward to it. After all, who would welcome a seizure, he thought, as he rolled uncontrollably among the leaves.

This week paroxysm/seizure was the prompt at Two Word Tuesday.

Times Are So Tough...
