Auf Wiedersehn, Entre Card

EntreCard, darling EntreCard
Thank you for all your drops so hard
Picture this, I dare not miss,
A single beat, dropping’s neat,
Quite a feat, but now I Tweet.

EntreCard, darling EntreCard
Thank you for your promises of lard
I can’t see, your approach to fees
New ads intertwined, for all time
Theirs and mine, that’s not fine.

EntreCard, darling EntreCard
Thank you for funny cards I disdain
I recalled, nonamedufus enthralled,
How you (under duress?) made a mess
I confess, that’s not all

EntreCard, darling, EntreCard
Thank you for nothing you retard
Though we go, on our separate ways
Still the memory stays
For always my heart says EntreCard

EntreCard, Auf Wiedersehn, EntreCard

Dear "dropper": As you can probaly tell from the above, I'm getting out of the EntreCard business. I'm not placing or accepting any more ads and when my ads in the system run out around mid-April that'll be it. I apologize to serious droppers out there but I find the whole activity just too time-consuming. I hope this results in my having more time to not just visit your blogs but to read them and comment, too. So to all my faithful droppers:

"Danke Schoen"

ettarose: Hey, I'll be right here, reading yer blog and bumpin' into ya in the HBDC forums.

Chat Blanc:I am honoured, Madam. Good luck with the higher learning thingy.

Me-Me: Hey, everyone's gonna make their own decisions. Good luck. And I'll still visit your great blog.

Quirky: I'd love a milkshake. Can I get fries with that?

Amy: That's good to know. Thanks, ma'am.
I'm thinking of doing that too, mostly because I can't keep up with it all, and it takes waay too much time, of which i have none.

But what todo with my credits?

Entre-what?

Damn, I'm so glad I don't have a blog. All the stuff I spend tons of time on elsewhere is bad enough. My ass is getting big!

As for the credits - I just found out I have 'credits' on my credit card - like, they give you points that you can redeem for giftcards and stuff. There's tons of stuff on there that I could get but you know what I've been getting?

Starbucks. :-)

Why? Because I'm worth it. And, frappes totally rock.

Auf veiderzehn (sp?) Ciao, and all that, [still likin' the blog]

Mary: That's what I found. Took so much time. You should have a contest and pass on your points to the winner.

Anon: I'm glad you still like the blog especially for something other than EntreCard! Thanks...

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy! ...

I Am Charlie, I'm A Bore

Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Colin Farrel...you know the list, it goes on and on. The list of Hollywood hick-ups who not content to meltdown behind closed doors have to drag each and every detail out into the light of day and share it with all of us. Well, add Charlie Sheen to that luckless and lascivious list of losers. In the past few days he's been on every major media soapbox complaining abut how he's been treated and how he's misunderstood. Last night he spent an hour on ABC's 20/20 "in his own words". Charlie, you should have stuck to the script. "I have a highly evolved brain". You know I never did like that song by Helen Reddy in the 70s "I Am Woman". But I have to say the melody really leant itself well to a parody of Hollywood's latest flame-out, Charlie Sheen. Although I never thought I'd hear myself say this, my sincerest apologies to Helen Reddy. And now if you're ready (a little play on wor...
