Pause Ponder and Pun #100

100.

Yeah.

I knew you were coming so I baked a cake!

It's the centennial of Pause Ponder and Pun this week. Imagine. A picture a week for 100 weeks. Who knew there were so many stupid pictures on the internet. And funny captions? We've certainly had our share.

I want to thank everyone for dropping by every week and making our little contest the success that it has become.

Can my readers caption? They sure can, uh, duh!

And here's another silly pic to mark the occasion. Hey why not? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

So march right up and leave your comment.

The more we receive, the more we'll trumpet about in Saturday's results post.

See ya then.

Happy 100, dufus!

I wish I could come up with some type of caption for the picture to celebrate this prestigious moment, but really, I've got nothing.

"Newfie Screech" is basically a moonshine that was originally derived from the sediments of rum and molasses barrels during the rum running days of yore. Made in Newfoundland.

Now y'all be learned.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
