I'm Asleep

When you buzzed after "snore"
Couldn't open my two eyes
You're just like a bother
Your tone makes me cry
I snore like a feather's
In the back of my throat
I wish I was annoying
You're so fucking annoying

Cause I'm asleep
I'm just, uh, dead, oh
What the hell are you doing here?
You don't belong here

I don't care if I dream
But my mind wants control
I can feel myself nodding
I want a perfect sleep-in
I want you to notice when I'm asleep, sound
You're so fucking annoying
I wish I was annoying

Cause I'm asleep
I'm just, uh, dead, oh
Why the hell are you buzzing here?
You don't buzz long here

Not running out the door
Not running out
Late - run, run, run

Whatever makes me dozy
Whatever it is
Is so fucking annoying
I wish I was annoying

Cause I'm asleep
I'm still in bed, oh
What the hell's going on here?
I don't belong here
I don't belong here

With apologies to Radiohead and Quirkyloon

HA! I caught on right away Dufus! I was like, wait! This is MY song. And nicely done, and I guess I accept the 'pology.

Or is too late to 'pologize?

HA!

I knew you'd get this Quirks. "Creep" is your favourite song. I hope I didn't take too many liberties with it. "I'm asleep" just seemed like such a natural. Great song...the original anyway.

Okay, now I get it. Some of the lyrics sounded familiar-like, but I was thinking of a totally different song.

A little ambiguous for you this morning? We should remind people what song I'm parodying http://youtu.be/XFkzRNyygfk

I did look it up (thanks for the link anyway), but I really did have another song in mind which now totally escapes me. Fun lyrics, though.

Quirky seemed to like it. I can see I'm going after a limited audience today.

Hey! I got that one right away!! I love that song. Yours, I mean, not the original. Mainly because Jepeto snores and I'm really fucking tired. :-)

Well you should move his cage to another room.

I wish I could hear the song because I don't think I've ever heard Radiohead. You should sing it! ☺

Me? I wouldn't do the original justice. There's a link to the original further down in the comments here.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy! ...

I Am Charlie, I'm A Bore

Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Colin Farrel...you know the list, it goes on and on. The list of Hollywood hick-ups who not content to meltdown behind closed doors have to drag each and every detail out into the light of day and share it with all of us. Well, add Charlie Sheen to that luckless and lascivious list of losers. In the past few days he's been on every major media soapbox complaining abut how he's been treated and how he's misunderstood. Last night he spent an hour on ABC's 20/20 "in his own words". Charlie, you should have stuck to the script. "I have a highly evolved brain". You know I never did like that song by Helen Reddy in the 70s "I Am Woman". But I have to say the melody really leant itself well to a parody of Hollywood's latest flame-out, Charlie Sheen. Although I never thought I'd hear myself say this, my sincerest apologies to Helen Reddy. And now if you're ready (a little play on wor...
