With those words Mama Cass broke the not-so best kept secret of the 60s. Most musical groups lip-synced their performances on the Ed Sullivan Show. The Mamas and the Papas certainly lip-synced this performance of Creeque Alley. Nevertheless it's a great performance of the group's 1967 #5 autobiographical hit. Thinking back to 67, a certain 15 year-old boy was totally smitten with Michelle Phillips. Oh, and the music wasn't bad either.
