30 Days of Photos - Day #31 - Outtakes

Yeah, yeah, I know. I can do the math. I lied yesterday. But when I said it was the last day I really thought it was.

However, it seems Ziva and Mike had such a great time torturing the 16 rest of us bloggers for 30 days they wanted to go one day further. They want ZivaMikeNicky & MikeMoMeleahBryanMariannMalissaNoraLaughing MomTanyaElizabeth00dozoCherylKristen and Katherine and me to flip out entirely and do just one more day of this insanity.

Today is different though. They want us to post a sampling of outtakes and rejects, photos we took but that didn't make it into our posts over the last 100 days. Oh, sorry. I meant 30 days. Just seemed longer.

So without further adieu (that's French, eh quoi) and without a lot of commentaire (French encore!) because lord knows I've written enough over the last 30 days, here's a sampling of what didn't make it ...

Afternoons in Panama

The stupid ant trap was upside down

Confederation Building, Parliament Hill

Put on a happy face. It's more "appealing"

Satan without the fangs

I have piles...of wood

42 (without the music)

Terry actually standing still

I left this one out for good reason

The Future... the less artsy version

This was more "garage doors" than "wheels" with
mysterious glowing eyes

Wellington Street, Parliament Hill
The long, but not winding, road
I used to work in the building on the right
The National Press Building
(sorry, couldn't help myself with one last history lesson)

We'll be back to our regular schedule beginning tomorrow with the return to this blog of Pause Ponder and Pun. Then Thursday, I'll have some final thoughts on 30 Days of Photos. Don't miss it.

My favourites of these: the toothbrush photo - that is one very hairy face you have there. And also, the bicycle against the garage doors photo, which is just a great photo in its simplicity. Thanks, dufus, for playing along today, too. :)

Gosh, how could I refuse. It's been a fun April, Ziva. We'll have to do this again some time.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I can see why you went with the photos you did and not these :), especially that toothbrush one...oh my. ;)

Yeah that toothbrush one seemed like a good idea at the time. The brush in action and only showing a part of my face. I took several shots but didn't really like them. So I went with the two brushes, one cup pic.

I LIKE the toothbrush one!

Okay, I'll put you down as a "yes" then.

You DID it! That toothbrush photo is the one I wanted to take and post. No way was my husband going to go for it and I still don't know how to take a self-portrait. That garage with red eyes is crazy funny.

Yeah, I did it. But it just turn out how I wanted it to. The yes in the garage window is actually the lights on my garage door opener. I'd only just closed the door before I took the picture.

Of course it didn't meet your expectations but it's a great shot.

I remember your wheels shot and you made the right decision in posting the photo you did. Now that the challenge is over and I can actually think somewhat clearly, I think we should use the worst shots instead of the best next year.

Great idea. Let's see just how bad our pictures can be. I could win that one.
Cheryl said…
Oh, honey, I only post the good stuff. When it comes to the bad stuff, I've got enough to last a lifetime.
OH MANNNN! I MISSED THE EMAIL! Darn! FAIL! You guys are all posting these awesome pix... love them!

I love the garage door with the mysterious glowing eyes. :)

I love the upside-down ant trap. It's such an outlier. :-)
nonamedufus said…
They're all posting my awesome pics? That's not right!
nonamedufus said…
You know I only realized those "eyes" were there when I chose that pick for today's post. Weird, huh?
nonamedufus said…
Hey, never thought of that. I could have used it that day, I guess.

Sounds like my wife's approach to wine.

I think I may have said this before, but I like the wood one - you caught the cobwebs and there's a nice contrast in light and composition.

Ha! Was that 'Satan' hiding in the garage?? They do look like cats' eyes. But, lets not speak of the toothbrush one, okay? Heh, heh.
"for good reason"? What good reason? That's my favourite...

I love the wood shot, and the upside down ant trap, not that I really "get" the shot but hey, it's a lovely shot.

I've loved discovering your blog, let's stay in touch dude.
nonamedufus said…
Really? The toothbrush one is your favourite? Wow.

I'd like to stay in touch. Really enjoyed your series of photos. I'm going to add you to my blog roll, Mo.
My blog roll is mostly dead, most of my old friends are long retired from this world, I took an 18 month break and returned to be lonely...then along came this challenge, I'm gonna add you and restructure the alphabet so that 'n' comes first.
Ziva said…
What about 'z'?
nonamedufus said…
In my world "Z" comes first, of course. But on my blog roll that only works when you've posted something most recently. But I know where to find you.
nonamedufus said…
The wood one was kinda neat, wasn't it. I think I included that one in my comments that day. The garage door one really freaked me out when I noted the "eyes". And the toothbrush one? 'Nuff said.
nonamedufus said…
Now that'd be cool!
Cheryl said…
Hahahahahaha! (Working on that ponderous pun picture.)
00dozo said…
Yep - I do remember you including the other (or this) wood photo in your comments - that's why I liked it. I just wasn't sure if I had commented on it then.

;-)
Mine is ordered alphabetically. So once I've fixed the alphabet so that it starts with N then Z we should be sorted.

You are good men, both of you.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
