30 Days of Photos - Day 9 - Disguise

We're into Week #2 of 30 Days of Photos IV, or as Ziva likes to refer to it "Bob".  Did you know BOB backwards is the same as BOB frontwards? Yeah, it's a palindrome. Just thought I'd point that out.

Today's theme is disguise and after getting through week #1 I think I'm gonna start wearing one.

As I paddle in my kayak.

Hey, I'm on the level here.

Pop on over to Madam Ziva's and see who else is wearing a disguise today.

I feel like I missed something. Why are you wearing a disguise while paddling a kayak? In any case, kudos to you for having the good taste TO kayak. I swear it saved my life I love it so much.

That mask looks a tad wicked, I don't know why. Pray tell. Why is this challenge called BOB?
nonamedufus said…
I'm a superhero of the great outdoors.

I don't know Babs. It was Ziva's idea. Hey, Bab is a palindrome, too.

That is a KICK ASS mask. And kinda creepy!

Especially if I say "Hello 'sbabs here"

I don't like using Palindrome for Bob. less letters to just say Bob is Bob.

The lighting's from the Flash Light App on my iPhone of all things.

And, yes, Bob is easier to say, and spell, than palindrome.

Thank you. My step-son made it at school when he was much younger. It's plaster of paris, painted blue.
Ziva said…
Ohh, very artistic, dufus, and very nice! I love it! Too bad you ate the nose, though.
nonamedufus said…
I'll pass you'e reaction along to him.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, it's my attempt at artsy-fartsy. I think it's kinda cool. I guess you could say I've unmasked my true capabilities.
nonamedufus said…
I've had the fartsy part down for some time now.

That's a great photo, NoName. But is this something you own? Why? And when do you wear it? With Mrs. NoName?
nonamedufus said…
I'm a ballet dancer in my spare time, Mike. Good work out for the calves, you know. Last time I wore this was during Swan Lake.

I'm so impressed by this photo. Love the lighting. I couldn't tell if the mask was metal or something less dangerous, but I read your comments and found out it is plaster of paris. I would like to be plastered in Paris.

[Insert evil laugh here] Very creepy. Evil Twin wants it for her closet door. Maybe it could disguise itself as a knocker.

Great photo, though!
nonamedufus said…
It's made of plaster ofparis. One knock and that'd be it, Ref.
nonamedufus said…
Ya, plastered in Paris is a great idea, Malisa. I'm in.
nonamedufus said…
Plastered in Paris. I could go for that.
nonamedufus said…
Well it's made of plaster of paris. One knock would be bout all it's good for.

Cool picture. Is it a picture of your brain exploding?
Traci Shannon said…
Very artsy! I can almost hear Phantom music in the background.

No, it's only Day 9. But maybe in a couple of days.
nonamedufus said…
Ah, right. But now his mask covered only half his face.
Cheryl said…
Did you make that yourself from papier-mâché? I wouldn't wear it while paddling a kayak. A canoe, yes. But never a kayak.
nonamedufus said…
Maryse's son made it when he was a kid. Maryse never throws anything away.

I really like this shot, mon ami. The air of mystery, danger... just like you, right? :-)
nonamedufus said…
Oh, absolutely. Shaken not stirred.
Shawn Ohara said…
Great shot! Terrific look with the lighting. No need to wear a disguise after this one.
mike said…
Cool mask. I like the shadow play on this one.

Here's how I did it. I went into our windowless, darkened powder room, flipped on the flash light app on my iPhone and took several pics with my iPad. This is the one I chose. Might've worked for the "illuminate" prompt to if I hadn't taken it only yesterday.
nonamedufus said…
I did too. And the arc at the top is kinda special too.
Shawn Ohara said…
That just proves it. No need to over think it. The proof is in your terrific photo.
nonamedufus said…
Who knew I'd do some of my best work in the bathroom?
Cheryl said…
Well of course not. When the house gets too crowded, just rent a storage unit for the overflow. Worked for my mom. (I really like this photo. The light and shadow are really intriguing. #TeamLame really needs a new hashtag.)
nonamedufus said…
Let me amend that. She never throws anything away unless it's mine.

How about #teamsortalame?
That is absolutely gorgeous!
nonamedufus said…
Thank you Katherine.
Is that your kayak, cleverly disguised as a mask?
Cheryl said…
How about you make the jump to #teamadequate with an eye towards moving up to #teamsatisfactory? Yeah, I know, both of those are pretty lame, aren't they?
nonamedufus said…
No but in my secret identity I get to say things like "Madam I'm Adam"
nonamedufus said…
I like team adequate. It's like a step above lame.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
