30 Days of Photos - Day 25 - Poison

A Sausage Egg McMuffin and a coffee.

My breakfast of champions once a week or so.

I know. I know. I'm bad.

At least that's what Mrs D keeps telling me.

And as I pack on the pounds I come to realize...

This stuff's poison.

But it tastes so damn good.

What's your poison?  Ziva's got the linky thingy going so we can all find out together.

For the rare time that I go these days, its the Bacon & Eggs Bagel for me.

Dufus, my friend, for some reason the linky thing links to your post for Day 7, I will fix it for you, but only if you share your poison with me, I've never tried a Sausage Egg McMuffin, and I really think I should.

Coffee and Bacon could be my demise but, what a way to go.
nonamedufus said…
I've never tried that. Seriously.
nonamedufus said…
Aw, damn. I used the Day 7 link over on Mike's blog in a comment and then forgot to change it back to post on your linky thing. (I know that sounds worse than it is.)

Next time you travel this way you can visit and I'll treat you...to a McMuffin. (Don't they have McDonald's in Finland?)

Oh, I like bacon too but my favourite breakfast meat has to be sausage.
nonamedufus said…
No, but if we own up to what we eat there a lot of it IS poison. How come poison tastes so good?
Tami Von Zalez said…
That is Mr. VZ's poison too from MIckey D's.

Anything that tastes wonderful, seems to be poison to us. So sad.

Yeah, McDonalds food really IS poison. But it's too delicious to resist!
Ziva said…
Thank you, my dear. We do have McDonald's, but in all of Turku, there's only one, and it's nowhere near me. I hardly ever have McDonald's food...

The sneakiest sorts of poison do taste good. I nearly made my post all about sugar.

Ugh. I hate Mickey D's. There are much better breakfasts out there, mon ami. Anything is better than McDonalds.
nonamedufus said…
If we stopped to think about what was in our favourite foods sometimes we'd never eat them again.
nonamedufus said…
Only one? Here there's one on almost every corner.
nonamedufus said…
Yes, there are. Like Burger King.
nonamedufus said…
A-ha. I like Mr VZ.
nonamedufus said…
It is ya know. And yet 5 minutes after eating it I regret it.
nonamedufus said…
Oo, sugar's bad. I'm diabetic.
nonamedufus said…
Aw, c'mon. Allow a guy his guilty pleasure. It's got cheese.
nonamedufus said…
Why do we do these things to ourselves?
It's been years since I had an Egg McMuffin. Probably because I haven't been able to stomach McDonalds for the past 20 years. Definitely poison to me.
nonamedufus said…
You know it's my guilty pleasure but if I don't stop soon these things are gonna kill me.
Cheryl said…
Just walking through the doors of Chez MickyD's is enough to make me feel as though I've been drenched in poison.
nonamedufus said…
I use the drive-thru.
But then there is that guy who eats nothing but mcdonalds and says he is healthy. I say go for it!
mikewjattoomanymornings said…
I've had two of those in my lifetime. And I'm still...uhm...a bit portly. We are who we are.
mikewjattoomanymornings said…
That's not cheese. It's plasticized milk product.
Cheryl said…
Well, there's your problem! It's not the food, it's that you're not working hard enough for it.

nom nom. burp
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You sound like my mother.
nonamedufus said…
Oh, God, no I couldn't do that! Bleck!
nonamedufus said…
Two? You couldn't stop at one? A-ha!
nonamedufus said…
Say excuse me! Didn't your mother teach you any manners?
nonamedufus said…
Okay, but it's close. Like a cheese relative or something.
mike said…
Good choice for poison, but McD's is an insult to Irish cuisine everywhere. Or is that Scottish? I can never remember.
nonamedufus said…
The Scots have a cuisine? You call haggis a cuisine?
Cheryl P. said…
Yum, I rarely eat fast food but I do love Egg McMuffins. At 300 calories you could do far worse for breakfast.
Lauren said…
I'm glad you didn't get a close up of the sausage and eggs. Just the thought it is making me hungry.
nonamedufus said…
Only 300 calories? Hell, I'll have two.
nonamedufus said…
I have another angle... Are you hungry now?
Jay of The Depp Effect said…
Sugar's bad for anyone. It's just a lot worse for you!
nonamedufus said…
Oh, yes, indeed. I'm already sweet enough.
Lauren said…
I'm getting hungry and thirsty. Thanks for the close up. : ) What's for dessert?
nonamedufus said…
I don't do dessert. How about an ice cream bar?

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
