30 Days of Photos - Day 13 - Wrong

Wha?

A cat picture?

On Dufus's blog?

That's just wrong.

Well at least it's not black.

Paw your way over to Ziva's and see how others celebrated Friday the 13th.

Oh my word! Pray, what is wrong with black cats?

Is this the wrong Dufus? Is there a right Dufus? What are we talking about?

HAahahahHAhHAHhaah!! Good job, John!
Debra She Who Seeks said…
And right after you took this photo, you chased the cat away, didn't you?
nonamedufus said…
They're bad luck, especially on Friday 13th!
nonamedufus said…
Dufus doesn't usually do cats. The internet is overrun with cats. So my pic of a cat is just wrong. Me owning a cat is just wrong. Sigh.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, I've stooped to new levels of lameness today.
nonamedufus said…
No, actually it's our cat - I know, I know, we own a cat - and I just let her be. I find ignoring each other seems to work best for both of us.
babs (beetle) said…
My little Sukie can't possibly bring bad luck :)
ReformingGeek said…
That's YOUR kitty! Yea! What's "wrong" is that she is so far away from you. Hee Hee.
Cheryl said…
Good to see you kept it way the hell at the other end of your property! You are just too much. In a very good way.
nonamedufus said…
That's about as close as I'll get.
nonamedufus said…
There once was a time we had 3 cats. That's right. I've since come to my senses.
nonamedufus said…
I really wish cats could talk to tell me what they wanted instead of endlessly whining at me and opposable thumbs to let themselves in and out of the patio door. Is that too much to ask?
babs (beetle) said…
Not at all :) Our cats have their own little door.
nonamedufus said…
How does the door differentiate between a cat and say a skunk or badger?
Jay of The Depp Effect said…
You have a cat and you don't post cat pictures? Well THAT'S just wrong, too!
babs (beetle) said…
This is the UK. We don't have such things strolling around. I've only ever seen one badger and it was dead. A skunk, I've never seen. The only thing that is likely to come in is another cat and most of those would never come that close to your house.
nonamedufus said…
I thought badgers were the UK's national animal or something.
nonamedufus said…
Don't get me started.
babs (beetle) said…
Sadly they are diminishing in numbers :(
Lauren said…
At least it's not a picture of food ... to most people.
MalisaHargrove said…
We have all given in to the dirty deed this time. I'm just waiting for everyone to post a cat photo. Maybe that should be a topic next time.
nonamedufus said…
Right, I've already done that.
nonamedufus said…
And there's a big drive to protect them, right?
nonamedufus said…
What dirty deed?

You're not suggesting we do a 30 Days of Cat Photos are you?
babs (beetle) said…
Yes. They are a protected species now.
Ziva said…
A cat? I knew there was a soft cat-loving heart beneath all those puns. You are a good man, dufus.
Cheryl P. said…
Every blog needs an occasional cat picture. Those that don't are wrong.
nonamedufus said…
This has turned into a catastrophic prompt response. Shit.
nonamedufus said…
So that makes me right, then? Confusing.
nonamedufus said…
Are they on your money? We have beavers, moose, polar bears and loonies on our change. Oh, and the Queen...that animal.
babs (beetle) said…
No, not on our money. We usually have historical figures and the queen, of course :)
nonamedufus said…
You guys are a lot saner than Canadians.
Shawn Ohara said…
Did the cat just finish swimming?
That is BRILLIANT! Everyone has been so creative!
babs (beetle) said…
But a lot stuffier ;)
mike said…
You know it's bad when the cat pics start to appear.
nonamedufus said…
I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
I'm shocked! What has this challenge come to? You posting a picture of cat is not only wrong, it's CATastrophic!
Jackal said…
oh that's a cat??
Shawn Ohara said…
Then it could fit under the category of Pause, Ponder & Plunge.
nonamedufus said…
I know. And everyone's else's feleine photos has made me catatonic.
nonamedufus said…
Oh, Shawn, that's hilarious. You wi the comment of the day award. Need a cat?
nonamedufus said…
I call it a freakin' ball of fur but yes that's a cat.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D

My Back Pages - November

I know, I know, I know I should have reported in before now. But sometimes real life just gets in the way. I attempted 5 books in November. I say attempted because I slapped a big DNF (did not finish) on Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon. I just can't seem to get into this guy. It's the second or third of his I've given up on, Not so the other four, starting with a biography of Stephen Stills called Change Partners. This followed by a hilarious biography of the guy responsible for National Lampoon called A Stupid and Futile Gesture - How Doug Kenney and National Lampoon Changed Comedy Forever. I ended the month reading yet another biography, this one of the man behind Rolling Stone magazine,. It was called Sticky Fingers: The Life and Times of Jann Wenner and Rolling Stone Magazine. A fascinating read. So last month I hit the magic number 50 I'd imagined for myself back in January. If I roll this month into my yearly total I'm at 54 books. And I still hav
