Things That Annoy Me

1. The first two weeks of fantasy football.
I'm currently 0 wins and 2 loses in my fantasy league.
We'll see what happens in week three tonight after my man #1 Quarterback Aaron Rodgers plays.

2. When golfer Tiger Woods steps up to take his tee shot on a par five and some yahoo in the crowd yells "in the hole". He's five strokes away from the hole ya jerk.

3. The royal ta-tas.
Never has so much been made of so little.

4. Mitt Romney.
And I'm not even American.

5. Fall.
Where the hell did summer go?

My brother Whitey and I spent a week at my other brother's place in Orlando last January golfing. One night we went to Jelly Rolls at Disney which is a club with duelling piano players who take requests. We sent up Oh Canada. They played it. It was a sight to see all the Canadians jump to their feet and try to remember the words.

Yet another reason I love you folks sooooooo much. We got lucky again & the young woman sang again. She has an angelic voice.

Did she know all the words? And, if so, did she sing half of them in French?

AHAHhaHAahhahahaha! YES!!

I know, eh. Drives me nuts.

She knew all the words but didn't sing in French. The older woman who was a mainstay used to sing the first verse in French then switch over to English.

Wow. I'm really impressed. Is New England, in particular New Hampshire, interested in joining Canada? You already know the anthem.

I've been ready to go for years. If it weren't for your lower temps in winter, I'd have been there long ago.

The low temperatures don't bother us. We have glowing hearts.

Russell Wilson may have Rodgers' number tonight. But I wouldn't put my money on it.
I only bet on hockey and at cards.
nonamedufus said…
That's good. Otherwise I'll be 0 and 3. You would have to pick the only sport to bet on that they're not playing.

I wasn't worried about you until the game unfolded. 5 sacks and before halftime? You might be lucky if AR makes it out alive.

Christ it's 8 times now and we're still in the first half! He's spending more time on his back than a lady of the evening.

In another league I have Greg Jennings and, more importantly, Seattle DEF.

Halftime still pending, 18 points. 8 sacks. Yeesh.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah Seattle D at this point has almost twice as many fantasy points as Rodgers. Sigh.

This is my first year in nearly a dozen years not playing fantasy football. And I love it.

Weird. I posted a comment. It showed it was there and then gone. I'll try again.

This is the first year in nearly a dozen years I'm not doing fantasy football and I'm loving it. :)

This is only my 2nd year of fantasy football. It sure is a different way to watch football. Am I loving it? Jury's still out.

Hey Dufus! Would now be a good time to tell you that I'm 2-1, thanks to a valiant final-game flurry from Wes Welker? GET IN! And Mitt? He HAS to be a put on; nobody could be that inept, SURELY? I think he's a sacrificial GOP offering to ensure they can sit tight and block everything for another four years, just to prove that a black man can't be a good president. The scamps. Indigo

Sure now's a good time. I just went 1-2 this weekend despite Rodgers pitiful 12 fantasy points last night. Mitt? Now there's a guy that should keep his mouth closed instead of sticking his foot in it.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
