Before we carry on with updates about our ongoing adventures, I thought I'd share some pics that I couldn't post earlier. I hope you enjoy these, just a fraction of the pics I've taken so far.

Great pics! That last one is absolutely gorgeous - the reflection kind of looks like a frozen lake with wispy snow.

00dozo: Frozen lake, snow? Brrr. It's one of the infinity/horizon pools here. At sunrise. Gorgeous, isn't it.

Those are really good. I really liked them all except the one with the flat stomach driving the golf-cart.

I hate her.

Can't say why, but I just do.

Yeah, those are pretty. If you like those great architecture, blue skies, gorgeous beaches and pretty people kind of photographs. And really, who likes those?

Do the beaches have black sand, or is it just the time of day?? Beautiful pics!!

Quirks, Quirks, Quirks now, now, that kid can't be much more than 16. My 11 year-old nephew took that pic. Good eye, eh?

Nicky: Yeah, you're right. But it's not a bad way to pass the day. It seems to be workin' for me.

DB: It depends on the time of day and the tide. If you get down past the brown sandy surface it can be black. I'm glad the pics convey a little taste of Panama. It's quite beautiful here.

Linda: These pictures don't begin to convey the beauty of Panama and the contrasts that exist in the country: skyscrapers in Panama City, the poorer districts, the resorts and beaches, the jungles and so on. I'm in paradise. It'll me hard to return to snow and -8C weather!

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows...
