Happy Trails

As much as I hate to do this, I fear I have little choice.  My little blog here is going dark for the next little while.  After several delays, I start the radiation treatments for my cancer today - 2 sessions a day - until Friday when I have my stem cell transplant.

This intense therapy will likely knock me off my feet awhile - say, several weeks or so to say the least.  I'll let you guys know when I'm back but in the interim there'll likely be very little activity on my blogs, Facebook or Twitter.

Like the bishop said to the one-eyed call girl, I hope you'll keep an eye out for my return.  I'll miss everyone and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Cheers!

Ack. I finally come back and now you must take a reprieve. But it's truly understandable. Take care! I will miss reading your funny daily blog posts.

And tell that cancer where to go, k?

Kick that cancer's ass!
I'll say a prayer for you, NoName. I'll miss you while you're out, too. And whenever I look up from Colorado to see a faint glow in the northern sky, I won't mistake it for the Northern Lights, I'll know it's you in Canada, getting better.

Wow, learned something new. Nonamedufuswhosmellslikecorn?

I still stop in, and hadn't said anything because, well, you know. Some of us are good with these kinds of topics, and some of us don't handle them too well. "You're in my thoughts", said the girl from Independence.

Kick its ass and come back so we can all put a positive spin on it as we cruise on down life's road. :-)

Ms. Thirty-Something.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
