30 Days of Photos - #23 - Fish Tales

Welcome to 30 Days of Photos, where 18 bloggers are participating in posting a photo a day for 30 days. Here are the other 17 you can visit after you've been here:

Well, here are the fish.

The only tale I have is that I took their picture at the supermarket when I was doing the grocery shopping last Friday.

They didn't even smile.

The nerve of some dead things, I tell you.

The ice may have had something to do with their cool response.
Come on. The one on top looks like he's trying to smell. Give him some credit for the attempt ;).
Smile. Not smell...I'm sure he doesn't have to try to smell.

They were just chillin'.
nonamedufus said…
Are you saying he smelt? (hahaha)
nonamedufus said…
He does look like he's trying to smile. Maybe he died with a smile on his face?
nonamedufus said…
Yes they were. And they were pretty cool about it. Totally ignored me.

That orange one in the middle is staring at me.

That is a sad photo. Poor fish! All dead and displayed like that. How would you feel if those fish were your family? Nice dead picture though.

Uh oh. UH OH.

Yep, I'm going there.

Fish heads, fish heads. Roly poly fish heads. Fish heads, fish heads eat them up YUM!

And you're welcome!

(for the earworm!)

Hooray , this is the first REAL fish photo I've seen yet for today's theme!

Now you've done it...I am totally depressed over the passing of fish that I didn't even know.
nonamedufus said…
He's got his eye on you, Mike.
nonamedufus said…
Do you think those fish have been working out? They have mussels.
nonamedufus said…
I don't know how the hell I missed this in the 80s. I'd never heard it before. But here it is for everyone to share (the ear worm). Thanks Quirks. No problem...

Thank you, Meleah. At least someone appreciates the effort I put into this. I got some pretty odd stares at the grocery store, believe me.
nonamedufus said…
The only good fish is a dead fish! But, hey, I had nothing to do with their demise. Reel-y!
Cheryl said…
They didn't need to smile. The way they've been aligned, they look a column of smiles.
nonamedufus said…
You must be looking at the picture upside down.
Ziva said…
Not a single smile? How terribly rude of them.
Cheryl said…
This is how folks who live in Boston smile?

(Ah shit! I'm tired; I missed the email fun and games last night; and dear gawd, I've run out of excuses.)
nonamedufus said…
What can I say? All I could find was frowning fish.
nonamedufus said…
I always catch up on the e-mails the next morning. That's what happens when you go to bed at 9pm.
Nora Blithe said…
At least they weren't peas!
meleahrebeccah said…
Oh I can imagine the looks you must have gotten!
Cheryl said…
Early to bed/early to rise, that's me too.

As for the Sox, I gave up on 'em when I was 10. I was smarter then.
nonamedufus said…
Thank God for small miracles. Hey, I like fish. And sushi!
You made a fish pie and didn't invite me? I'd have brought some mushy peas.
nonamedufus said…
Blech! Double blech!!
nonamedufus said…
And that was just from the fish!
Mike said…
The one on top's face appears frozen in fear.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, I think he saw the size of the fish guy's blade.

The thing I hate about today's theme is that I so reminds me of the freshwater fish I can't get here - you know, perch, pickerel, trout, even catfish (mudcats), and your photo doesn't help with that (although those red fish look like snappers, which we have in abundance here but I do like those).

You sure know the way to a woman's appetite!

;-)

I kinda miss those singing fish. You know. The ones with scales?
Nicky said…
I can't believe what I'm herring, Dufus! They didn't even smile? They just lay there like that, all in a roe without even so much as a hello? And they usually have such snapper lines!
nonamedufus said…
My cod, Nicky. Have you been practising? Well done! A lesser man would carp at your punning proficiency.
I don't know.. the top red guy looks like he is having a GREAT time impersonating a swimming shark!
nonamedufus said…
He's got the look but he's missing the fin.
MalisaHargrove said…
Smart, smart man! Always take your camera with you to the grocery store, right? Bet you had some people worried that you were doing an undercover investigative report entitled, "Holy Mackerel!" Very nice photo!
nonamedufus said…
Well, my camera's a phone, an iPhone. It goes with me everywhere. I didn't borrow it. It's mahi-mahi phone.

I learned from the Master, Dufus :-)

Well, your my best pupil at the school of dufus.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
