30 Days of Photos - #21 - Moon

Welcome to 30 Days of Photos, where 18 bloggers are participating in posting a photo a day for 30 days. Here are the other 17 you can visit after you've been here:

One morning on my Panama visit I got up early, about 5:30am, and hit the beach with my iPhone camera. I walked east. I wanted to get some shots of the sunrise. I did and the pics were spectacular.

After I had enough pics I turned back to retrace my steps.

Look what I saw in the western sky.

Here's a pic of the moon setting.

Gorgeous.

And look at that lovely, peaceful beach.

You can tell I was the only idiot up at that hour.

You would not have been alone had I been along. The best time to walk the beach and catch both the sun rising and the moon beginning to set. Fantastic shot, buddy.

Sumptious! We all should trek to the beach so early.

Lovely shot. You are no idiot - that is the best time to walk the beach. Last summer my brother and I walked at that hour - beautiful!

That is an extraordinary photo! Beautiful! And that hour is when things look at their most magical. Not people though. People look better after 10 AM.

What a beautiful photograph, dufus. It was definitely worth getting up at that hour. I wish I could have seen that.. Isn't it funny how the moon was setting in Panama as it was rising in Finland,

That is so true.

I will definitely use this pictures as inspiration next time I go to the beach, and now I really do want to go. Absolutely beautiful.

This photo is really beautiful, and it makes me long for the ocean even more than I normally do. I wish I'd been there.

Which is not me saying I want to take long walks on the moonlit beach with you.

Jeesh.
Why in the name of all things good and holy were you up at 5:30? You should go see a therapist about that.

I'm hurt. I was so looking forward to it. Barefoot in the sand. Sigh
nonamedufus said…
The beach was absolutely gorgeous.
nonamedufus said…
Glad I inspired you.

You know I'm so glad I went to Panama last month. I've been able to use so many pictures.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, I'm kinda glad I was alone at that hour. I was not exactly as spectacular looking as the moon.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, who knew? I hardly ever use it as a phone!
nonamedufus said…
It really is a special time of the day. So tranquil.
nonamedufus said…
But that would spoil the whole effect! ;)

Thanks, Cheryl. It was like I was in a different world. So peaceful. Just me and the birds.

Getting up at the crack of dawn was definitely worth it! This is a gorgeous photo. Wasn't it nice being the only one on the beach? Great shot!
Cheryl said…
And the ocean, beach, and trees.

On the contrary, Dufus, I think you were the only intelligent one. What a gorgeous scene.
nonamedufus said…
Hey. I didn't see you there. How do you know?
nonamedufus said…
And the waves. They waved to me.
nonamedufus said…
It was great, indeed. I'm glad you enjoyed the pic. It was worth it getting up at that hour to get that shot.
nonamedufus said…
Nicky? Did you just pay me a compliment? Hey, what have you done with the real Nicky?

totally-super-fabulous. Looks SO inviting!
Cheryl said…
Of course they did. No one else was around.

I can't believe how good your iPhone camera shots came out throughout this challenge so far - this one is the best yet (and probably the best of the day)!

Or, is it maybe that you just got an early tee time and went looking for your ball? In that case, look up, look waaaay up!" Heh, heh.

Gorgeous photo, really.

;-)

Oh it was. And at that time of the morning you miss the heat of the day which got up to around 40C.

For a point and shoot guy like me the iPhone really gave me some great photos. Thanks, 00dozo.
Idiot? NO! Very VERY smart person!
Kristen said…
Yeah - I'm with 00dozo - your iphone shots have been amazing. I'm thinking of doing my portrait one from an iphone shot. I love your moon photo. Love it.
Beautiful...I wouldn't have been up, though, at 5:30 to get that photo myself, but for you, it works. :)

Beautiful photo. I slept through all of the moons phases this month which is why I came up with nothin'.
nonamedufus said…
Oh, Katherine. Who am I to argue?
nonamedufus said…
Pretty surprising, isn't it? I was pleasantly surprised.
nonamedufus said…
The moon shot (no pun intended) was a bonus. Here's one of the pictures of the sunrise I was after...also a gorgeous shot.
nonamedufus said…
Geez, Mike, didn't you know the early bird gets the moon photo?
nonamedufus said…
Thanks, Nora. The interesting thing is I went out to snap pics of the sunrise and caught this quite by accident.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
