We missed the Aguilera screech. In fact, we went to another cable channel altogether - Fox was oh, so nauseating (and our feed was "fat" - too wide for our t.v.).
Way to go, Packers!
;-)

Ha! Love the last one with Palin. Oh, so true.

Great, great funnies!

I do have to wonder about the Xtina factor. I mean if I knew I was going to sing at the biggest event (even bigger that Egypt's protests), I would definitely review the lyrics.

Or is she above that?

00dozo: It's a shame really. She can sure belt out a song when she wants to. But when she screws up the words she loses all credibility.

Quirks: You'd think so, wouldn't you. Oh, well, she's still better than Roseanne Barr.

It would be nice if some of these pseudo-talented divas would spend less time butchering the melody with their runs and embellishments and more time learning the words to the song.

Makes me sick. It's a majestic song. Just sing it.

Chris:What is it with these celebrities? Me, me, me. You know when Jose Feliciano sang the anthem years ago people thought he was just making fun of himself when he sang "Jose can you see?".

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy! ...

30 Days of Photos - #24 - Crowd

Welcome to  30 Days of Photos , where 18 bloggers are participating in posting a photo a day for 30 days. Here are the other 17 you can visit after you've been here: Ziva ,  Mike ,  Nicky & Mike ,  Mo ,  Meleah ,  Bryan ,  Mariann ,  Malissa ,  Nora ,  Laughing Mom ,  Tanya ,  Elizabeth ,  00dozo ,  Cheryl ,  Kristen  and  Katherine I took a bit of a different take on today's theme. I don't get out much and when I do I never really encounter a crowd. So how the heck will I take a picture of one?  So for today's pic I went to my music collection and pulled out a couple of my Crowded House CDs. Do you know them? Crowded House is an Australian band that started out as Split Enz in the 70s, the brainchild of Neil Finn who hailed from New Zealand. They were most popular in the decade beginning in the mid 80s. Brother Tim also played in the group. One of my favourite Cr...
