What a week for E-toons.
;-)

Ha! Love the Super Bowl one. We only watch it for the commercials, too. Well, I do enjoy the big game just so long it isn't a blowout. And I gots me some wings and veggie dip!

EG: We don't get the commercials north of the border. We'll just have to watch the same old Canadian commercials we always see.

00dozo: We're dong chili. It's kind of a tradition. Go Steelers

dufus: What's "dong chili" - a Freudian segue from the caption contest? Heh, heh.

The Steelers?? Naw, I'm rooting for the Packers even though I don't know any of the stats on either team. They were my dad's favourite team.

Oh, and I hated when they always pre-empted the good commercials with Canadian ones. But, hey, you'll be able to get them online afterwards.

I'll admit it: I only watch the Superbowl for the commercials. I don't even care about the halftime show.

However, I am rooting for the Packers. They were Red Foremans's team and that's good enough for me.

00dozo: Hey, haven't you ever heard of dong chili? Something tells me I'm do(i)ng it wrong.

Kelly: But Red Foreman was fictitious. Maybe by the end of the game the Packer's will be too.

Quirks: Funny how the Super Bowl has become so much more than a football game, isn't it.

UR: You're reading while you're walking? Good on ya. I've been trying to get through Stephen King's "Under the Dome". I'm about 450 pages in. Well less than half-way. Great book, but time-consuming.
Yeah, there were some great commercials last night...

But my favorite funny this week is Mubarak as Punxsutawney Phil.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
