Pause Ponder and Perverted Pets

Our little friend in the picture looks like she's enjoying her noodles. They must taste good. Speaking of good taste, here's this week's winning captions, beginning with our honourable mentions.

Introducing the Sham Face Wow!

The unfortunate result of forgetting to remove your
bubble-gum before eating your noodles.

Whoopie cushions make lousy fashion accessories.

But dufus doesn't want captions with good taste! No. Our winner this week is the absolutely tasteless Skeeter from Dead Dog with:

She was sooooo ugly, her parents put that fake anus on her face
to get the dog to like her.

Way to go Skeeter. You be hangin' with the dufus. Congratulations, dude!

See you guys next week. Oh, and hey, if you're literate you may want to catch my post from earlier in the week The Bloggerhood Of The Traveling Book. I think apart from the 4 literate comments I got the rest of the folks that dropped by Thursday must have been illiterate. Dunno. Just sayin'. Not too late to leave a comment, though. Cheers.

Hey! That's TWO honorable mentions! I think that's ALMOST as good as "hangin' with ye."

Yee haw!

And congrats to Skeeter for his/her (?) disgusting and winning caption.

hee hee

Congrats to skeeter! I really liked his other one too!

Congrats, as well, to the runners up. Thanks for another honourable metion, but I think BonyMike's was pretty good too (albeit a bit long winded).

Quirks: Well it beats a dishonourable mention, doesn't it?

00dozo: Mike had a good one, yep, but my post had been put to bed before he submitted it. Around here you have to submit early submit often!

DYING at Skeeter's winning caption!

Kelly: It doesn't say much for dogs, but I still thought it was pretty funny.

Ok Skeeter is my hero. Nothing says authenticity like that!

Sandra: Oh Skeeter's authentic. We just haven't figured out an authentic what.
Skeeter's was good and definitely in the top five, but in all honesty, I like Quirky's the best. No offense. Humor is subjective, I know.

Mike: Gee, maybe I should open this up to a vote. I could call it "So You Think You Can Caption?"

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
