how many points for a leaner?

Leaners are good for 1 point. Bet you didn't think I knew that.

ACK! It's upside down! All of the luck is running out of it! Quick! Turn it the right way!!!
Danielle Batog said…
I agree...you need to turn it around!!!!!!!!!!
nonamedufus said…
Really? There's a right side up for horseshoes? Who knew.
nonamedufus said…
That's funny, my horse didn't seem to have a problem.

I didn't know horseshoes had to face a certain direction to work. Unless you're throwing them, I guess. But this one's pretty interesting, all rusted and kind of round for a horseshoe. Good thinking, my friend.

I don't know where this came from. I found it in the work room hanging on a nail. It brought me good luck because it provided me with a photo for today.

ooooooooooooooh! I love horseshoes!

This one's very old. The longer I look at it the more I go all steely eyed.

I have a horseshoe lying around too and I have no idea where I got it from. What's yours doing on the floor?
Ziva said…

nonamedufus said…
I put it there in order to take the picture.
nonamedufus said…
The horse is in the back yard.
nonamedufus said…
You could always stand on your head to look at it.

Good gawd Man! Turn that thing over. STAT! They're hung upside down for a reason ~ so the luck doesn't run out. You need all the good fortune you can get.
nonamedufus said…
No problem, Trigger.
Cheryl said…
No I couldn't. This photo a day thing has aged me to the point that things I was doing in late September are now impossible. I don't miss the headstands as much as I miss the handstands and back bends.

I don't think the horse was lucky unless it got a new pair of shoes.

What day is it? I think I missed a day. Must've been all that tequila I had to drink in order to make it this far in the photo challenge. I'll need some serious luck to make it til November, so thanks for the lucky horseshoe.
nonamedufus said…
Wow, aren't you nimble.
nonamedufus said…
Pass that bottle over here, woman.
Jamie Baker said…
I like horseshoes. This one looks cool and antiquey.
Cheryl said…
Quite. I'm a freak of nature.
Katherine Murray said…
Oh nooooo! The luck is running out! :)

It's quite old. You should see the horse.

This may explain a few things.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy! ...

I Am Charlie, I'm A Bore

Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Colin Farrel...you know the list, it goes on and on. The list of Hollywood hick-ups who not content to meltdown behind closed doors have to drag each and every detail out into the light of day and share it with all of us. Well, add Charlie Sheen to that luckless and lascivious list of losers. In the past few days he's been on every major media soapbox complaining abut how he's been treated and how he's misunderstood. Last night he spent an hour on ABC's 20/20 "in his own words". Charlie, you should have stuck to the script. "I have a highly evolved brain". You know I never did like that song by Helen Reddy in the 70s "I Am Woman". But I have to say the melody really leant itself well to a parody of Hollywood's latest flame-out, Charlie Sheen. Although I never thought I'd hear myself say this, my sincerest apologies to Helen Reddy. And now if you're ready (a little play on wor...
