That's the very last King book I ever read. It was a brilliant read but the movie scared the living crap out of me. Never could back to his stuff after that.
Oh, that's a great idea, I need something lighthearted to read. See, M's leaving for a few days and I'll be all alone with a ton of work to do and all work and no play makes Ziva a dull girl.
Have you read his latest book? My husband is reading it. He loves it. I started reading it. But it's hard to read the same book while my husband is holding it.
Very nice, and a favourite book of mine. I remember how that book (and movie) creeped me out. In the edition that I read, the scene where Danny finally enters room 217 happened on page...217! Coincidence?

Never read any of his books. I have seen most the movies. <- Horrible to admit I know but true. I love the idea of this photo.
I'm a big King fan. Read almost everything he's written. And that movie had me on the edge of my seat.
Lighthearted?
Some of the movies missed the mark. Nothing compares to the original books.
Perfect choice for shiny. The Shining is a great book if you like scary stuff. King is also a masterful writer.
I'm replying to your comment because I'm having trouble logging into Disqus on blogger sites. I hope they fix the problem.
Damn Disqus. Love King.

Hello fellow participant,
Huge King fan - but never read that book. Gotta admit the movie is a classic.

Oh snap! Nicely done!!
I may have to change your name from Dufus to Goofus!
oh duf, you are the KING of BRILLAINCE when it comes to shiny!
Hey, you're changing everyone's name today.
Yes, I am. Signed: Princess Running Water Gonzalez
I love his early novels...The Stand, The Shining, It. He really is the master of the "can't put down" stuff.
Thank you ma'am.
Ha, ha, well thank you. Beats the prince of sheen, I suppose.
I hope I can live up to your expectations.
Something wrong with your plumbing, Linda?
I read 11/22/63 back in March. Is that the one you're talking about? Loved it. Kind of different for King.
That's the one!
Great! Now I'm going to have nightmares tonight! Thanks, Dufus!
:)
Good thing you've got Henry and your axe to keep you safe.
Aaaaaaand... we're off! 1 down, 29 to go! Can't argue with this one! Early movie copy of the book, I guess? HEEEEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!
Oh man that scene had me on the edge of my seat. Red Rum, Red Rum.
never read that book before, i'm too scared. welcome to day 1 and what a way to start!
I loved that book and nearly took a picture of it too... great minds, mon ami!
It's a classic horror story.
Yeah, it's all down hill from here.
OMG that movie creeped me out!
WHAT AN AWESOME IDEA! I absolutely love what you did.... and The Shining? SUPER amazing too!
What's that they say? Unstable minds think alike? Except that I'm a 'fraidy cat and can only handle a more friendly Shining. :)
hee hee!!!! well, SOMEBODY had to do it, right?
Very clever of you dufus! You are off to an awesome start.

Hard to imagine but the book was even better.
It was the first thing that came to mind. And I've heard you should always go with your first thought, so...
I think it's "fools seldom differ" but same thing.
It had to be me.
Thanks, Cheryl. I thought it was a great way to start out.
Oooo...freaky. But that'd be just like King wouldn't it.
