Yeah... Maryse told you to put the cover back on the pool again and you just didn't listen, did you?
Cheryl said…
That's what she said.

You sure dove right into this challenge.

probably time to close the pool, yo!

We left the cover off to dry out before we put it away for the winter. And our pump bought the biscuit. We'll deal with that expense next spring.
nonamedufus said…
Actually, right about now I'm just floating along.
nonamedufus said…
We closed it this week as a matter of fact.
nonamedufus said…
Actually my wife made the call. And the guys came to close the pool.
Ziva said…
Okay, before I comment on the photo, try not to drown, okay? I'd miss you terribly.

Now, the photo. I really, really like it. I love the little leaves floating around, and I love how we can see your shadow on one side, and the sun glinting off the water. It's a lovely photo.

Please be careful and don't drown in the pool - you wouldn't want the EMTs to show up and see all those leaves floating around.
nonamedufus said…
I wondered if anyone would pick up on my shadow. That's the morning sun behind me.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, Mrs D really fell behind in her chores here.

Everybody into the pyool!

Ah, ha! A chore you have ignored!

Face it, Ziva is doing the breast stroke just to stay afloat. The rest of us are doing a less graceful dog paddle.

Too cold now. Turned off the heater a month ago.
nonamedufus said…
I'm trying to visualize this.
nonamedufus said…
Good to know. Now I know who to call.
Coco said…
Did you do it, meaning leaves, for today? It's beautiful if it naturally be that way. Nice photo!
Nonamedufus said…
Oh no I didn't do it. Our pool is surrounded by trees. the pine needles aren't good for the filter though.
Jamie Baker said…
Given where you live, I'll bet that water is getting CHILLY.
Katherine Murray said…
Ahhhh you have a solar cover!!!!! But Jamie might be right... looks can be deceiving !!

Now I've got that Mrs. Robinson song stuck in my head.

We may have closed the pool too soon. Air temp this weekend expected to be balmy.
nonamedufus said…
We actually gave up swimming when the air temp started to dip. We shut down the heater then to save money.

One word, Mike: "plastics".

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy! ...

I Am Charlie, I'm A Bore

Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Colin Farrel...you know the list, it goes on and on. The list of Hollywood hick-ups who not content to meltdown behind closed doors have to drag each and every detail out into the light of day and share it with all of us. Well, add Charlie Sheen to that luckless and lascivious list of losers. In the past few days he's been on every major media soapbox complaining abut how he's been treated and how he's misunderstood. Last night he spent an hour on ABC's 20/20 "in his own words". Charlie, you should have stuck to the script. "I have a highly evolved brain". You know I never did like that song by Helen Reddy in the 70s "I Am Woman". But I have to say the melody really leant itself well to a parody of Hollywood's latest flame-out, Charlie Sheen. Although I never thought I'd hear myself say this, my sincerest apologies to Helen Reddy. And now if you're ready (a little play on wor...
