30 Days of Photos - #7 - Mirror

Well, hell, we made it to Day #7 in this photo a day for 30 days thingy. The first week has come to a close. Only 23 more friggin' days to go. I have to say, though, while it's been tough coming up with photos to match every day's theme, it's been a ton of fun to visit my colleagues' blogs every day and see what they've come up with. And another thing, my comment and page view count is through the roof. You'd think I actually had friends. Wow. So, here we go again...

Welcome to 30 Days of Photos, where 18 bloggers are participating in posting a photo a day for 30 days. Here are the other 17 you can visit after you've been here:

I almost want to subtitle this "When you see it you will..."

And I'm not really a Michael Jackson fan so "Man In The Mirror" won't do.

Hey, it's just a reflection of who I am. (heh, heh)

I took this from the passenger seat of my car, while stopped at a red light, on the way home from visiting my grandkids last Sunday around 7:30pm. The sun was well on it's way down. Oh, and I was the passenger. My wife was driving.

It's a fun kind of picture with the two kinds of mirrors providing a different perspective on the same background.

I finally figured out the zoom function on my iPhone camera.

And you can almost make out some old guy taking the picture.

Nice photo. I had an idea to do something similar with a Barbie car - but it didn't turn out. Yours definitively wins over my photo today.
Glad you figured out the zoom on your iPhone camera, because it works, especially with the mirror in the mirror.

I agree that it's been tough coming up with each day's theme thus far, but I have been enjoying visiting everyone else's to see what they come up and for the most part, I've been impressed...

...well, except for that Michael guy's photos. :P

Dufus, great minds think alike! Except I was in the driver's seat. Oh, and congratulations on figuring out the zoom thingy!

Glad you weren't driving as I see two hands on the camera/phone.

(2 hands on phone = 0 hands on wheel)

This zoom cunudrum must be universal. Some lady as by G-boy's swimming lesson asked me for a zooming lesson. That camera is capable of doing amazing things.

Bahahahaha!

This made me laugh.

heh heh.

But I do like your pic. The mirror in the mirror thingy. Cool. And there's nuttin' friggin' bout that! HA!

Ah yes. I was wondering WHO was going to use the car mirror! Good job!

I really like this idea. The part of the photo that I really love is the reflection of the lights in both mirror images. Well done!

A Barbie car? Are they made in Australia?

Yeah, it's actually been lots of fun. It's interesting to see the photographic side of people why usually write.

You know I've been tapping the bloody screen for months and been taking 3 second videos by mistake. The other day I pinched the screen by accident and voila!
nonamedufus said…
Yep when you figure it out it's amazing what it will do. Did you know you could make phone calls?
nonamedufus said…
Oh yeah the first week has just flown by...not!
nonamedufus said…
That'd be me. Hey, it was handy.

What? You didn't like the reflection of the old guy taking the picture?

You may choose to disagree with my beliefs, but I believe you are the man in the mirror.

Your first couple of lines sum up nicely how I feel. When I started this thing, I didn't realize this wasn't a sprint, rather a marathon. Daily posting is HARD.

I'm glad it was you who did the car mirror view. I can just barely make out your outline and am fascinated by all the shiny lights.

That last line made me fall just a little bit in love with you.

Great photo, dufus, I love the reflection of the old guy taking the picture.

Don't go toward the light, Cheryl.
nonamedufus said…
Aw, Ziva, you made my day.

Get a room you guys.

I love the mirror in the mirror concept. Very Zen. And isn't it great when you figure something out about your technology? It's like you just opened a whole new world. You'll be zooming all over the place now.

I love the multiple reflections - it's like a visual pun on the theme. Clever!

Very cool photo. Has a very "impressionist" look to it, almost like a painting!
nonamedufus said…
Oh there's Zen in zooming.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
