Pause Ponder and Pogos

You guys really know how to lay on the mustard. We had some great captions this week.

I really liked Jeremy from We Took The Bait's comment:

Margaret Cho's boyfriend, Frank, prepares to
"wow" the audience with
his impersonation of Mikhail Gorbachev.

Donnie from Beyond Left Field lived up to his blog title with:

Lady, you've got the ketchup right, but your way off with the mustard!

And Frank at I Don't Give a Damn did manage to give:

Janice, for one, welcomes our new giant-hotdog overlords.

But it was 00dozo at When I Reach who went for the gold with:

Originally, Kim had doubts about internet
dating services but exclaimed,
"Unlike the ketchup,
he really knows where to put the mustard!"

Hot dog, 00dozo, you're this week's big wiener. You be hangin' with the the dufus. Woo-hoo! Congratulations.

Donnie: Hey, sex sells...unless you're Charlie Sheen, then you're looking someone who sells sex.

Everyday Goddess: Oh, we've always got great captions from folks. You should stop by next week and join in.
Thanks for the mention, Dufus!

Frank's impersonation of Gorbachev would have been dead on if he'd replaced the mustard bottle with a fifth of vodka.

Congrats to 00dozo and the hono(u)rable mentions!

Congrats to OOdozo! And a big burp to all the honorable mentions!

Why is it when I see the moniker 00dozo I always think of that Styx song:

Domo Domo Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto!

hee hee?

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
