Pause Ponder and Poulet

I think if Marv Albert were providing a caption this week all he would have said was "Yessss!"

Or Dick Vitale would have dedescribed this as "a dipsy-doo Dunk-a-roo".

But, alas, I guess good old Marv and Dick had better things to do.

So instead, let's look at our Honourable Mentions.

I'll never surrender my bucket of KFC extra crispy, all beaks and feet.

A little to the left, Lower. Lower.
Oh yeah. THAT's the spot baby…
LOBO

Both excellent captions, guys but look who's hanging out with dufus this week…

LaToya went up for the block, but Cassandra came through with a 3-piece bucket.
Screaming Me-Me

Way to go Me-Me. This week you get to hang out with dufus. I hope you don't mind if we take a pass (no pun intended) on basketball and catch some football instead. It's okay. The NFL has it's share of birds: the Ravens, the Cardinals, the Seahawks, the Eagles and the Falcons.

Yum. Sounds much more interesting than KFC.

And here's your noname badge to commemorate this momentous occasion.

Marv, what do you think of Me-Me's win?

Thanks to all for playing. See you next week. Same time, same blog.

Another loss to a superior caption. I hang my head in shame. Well, not really. I have a lot of blogging to do yet.

Twittercide is Painless

Hey, don't forget to stop by my caption contest - Pause, Ponder and Pun - and leave a caption. You might win exciting prizes. Well, no prizes really but significant web cred to have been awarded the I Be Hangin' With Dufus citation. Oh yeah, baby! Meanwhile on with today's post... The debate on the positive versus negative impacts of social media networking continues, this time around the Catholic Church has waded in. Me? In addition to having friends in the real world, I find such social media as Twitter, Facebook and my blog an interesting way to interact with new people across all social strata, age groups and geographic locations. Indeed, I think it's the technological equivalent of Walt Disney's philosophy: It's A Small World, After All . (I stress philosophy and not that annoying theme park song) Couldn't watch it all, could you? But I digress... I thought the Catholic Church ran out of feet to stand on a long time ago. But apparentl

The Worst Christmas Present Ever

My pals over at Tribal Blogs are holding their first Blog Carnival today and the subject is the worst Christmas present ever. Remember Ralphie in the movie A Christmas Story ? His, as my readers point out, Aunt Clara sent him a bunny costume. Yeah, it sure sucked to be him. Hey sometimes Christmas doesn't work out for some of us. Look at my grandsons last Christmas. Things went from this... ...to this... Heh, heh. That's one picture my daughter doesn't want to share too widely. So keep quiet about it, okay? When I was a kid, Christmas was such a special time. The snow outside, the tree, the lights, the food, visiting relatives and neighbours. And of course the presents. My own kids loved Christmas too and would pore through the Sears Wish Book Catalogue as soon as it arrived in the mail, dog-earing pages upon pages of pictures of gifts they wanted for Christmas. And they were pretty lucky. They usually got most of what they asked for. Today the grandkids are lucki
