The ECARD "Can I borrow $20.00" made me laugh out loud for real.

I'm glad. I think you need a good laugh right about now given the week you've had. Let's hope next week's better for you.

Some of those are so bad, they're good! I especially like the Queen one and the Tebow one.

I love any reference to Game of Thrones even if I refuse to watch the TV show. It messes with what I imagined from the book.

First off I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in
which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I've had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my
thoughts out. I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just
trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
Cheers!

I'm the same. I don't watch the TV series. I loved the books. Just finished the 5th one. I'm happy with that. I don't want someone screwing around with the story the way I liked it.

It'll be interesting to see what the Patriots do with him this season. He could be a bit of a wild card in Fantasy Football...or not. We'll see.

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
