Pause Ponder and Pinwheel

Wow, we got a crap-load of captioners for the return of Pause Ponder and Pun. I want to thank every one of you for dropping by and leaving a caption.  Not to mention those that dropped by and left a comment indicating they were too intimidated to leave a caption (you know who you are).

This was our pic...

I'm about to cite 5 entrants from this week. An unusual event to be sure. Two get special mention:

Boom Boom Larew, the Not a Cat Lady who said:

Everyone's jumping for joy, now that Pause Ponder and Pun has returned.

And Shawn the Stubborn Fool with this caption:

Nonamedufus takes the plunge as he relaunches Pause Ponder and Pun,

I had to mention these guys as they both appealed to the narcissist in me

Now here's who else got a laugh from me this week:

Cheesy Mike from We Work For Cheese posted:

After decades in space, China's first satellite finally re-enters the earth's atmosphere.

Agent 54 rose to the occasion with:

If you train hard, concentrate, focus and eat Taco Bell many times,
you can gain the ability to fly using the power of your own farts.

But the caption that had me snorting Corona out of my nose was Malisa over at Moonlight Hallow with:

Competitive Olympic athlete Phuc Yu won the gold
with his famous colon cleansing triple twist sphincter splash.

Way to caption Malisa. You done good, girl. You be hangin' with dufus this week! What do you say we head on down to the gym and ask Phuc Yu to teach us a few of his moves?

Oh, and here's your badge...

Thanks to everyone who played along this week. See ya Wednesday for a special Halloween edition of Pause Ponder and Pun.

Oh and, hey, I didn't highlight these guys blogs for the good of my health. Get on over to their hangouts and see how funny and creative they are. Thanks.

Oh hell! You and I had a Vulcan mind meld this week. These are the ones I'd have highlighted and Malisa's caption is the one I'd have chosen too. Now, let go of my brain. I have things to do today!

Congrats to Malisa, a fitting winner indeed. I must now re-evaluate my entire life and try again for I know disappointment all too well.
Malisa was spot-on with this one! Way to hang, Malisa!

Sunday Funnies

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
