Photo Challenge - March

The theme of this month's photo challenge coordinated by P.J. over at a 'lilhoohaa is "one".

One? Now I'm a music buff so when I hear a word or phrase I often think of a song. How about 1968's "One (Is The Loneliest Number)" by Three Dog Night or the hauntingly beautiful "One" by U2 from 1992? But those are videos and this is a photo challenge. So here are my "ones" from March

The sign said "one way". Maybe if I keep going I'll find summer.

The clock in the car said 1 o'clock. Don't stare too long. You may have an accident.

I went to a hospital appointment about mid-March and parked my car on Level F-1

We're health conscious in my house. Well, one of us is anyway. We drink 1% milk.

And a quick visit to the music room turned up this post-Beatles Beatles CD of #1 Beatles songs.

That was my month. Now, march on over to P.J.'s place @ a 'lilhoohaa and see how the rest of the participants portrayed "one".

Ugh. I'm sorry that your spring is malfunctioning.

Oh dear. What IS this thing clock? It has hands and no numbers. It's a good thing you told us the time. Hee Hee.

Nice picks!

I like your creativity this month - especially the "one way" sign. ReformingGeek's comment about the analog comment is right on the money - I don't know if either one of our boys would be able to read the clock in your dash. Yet one more thing marking the generational divide!

Is it my age? I actually prefer analogue clocks.

You parked on level F1? Isn't that the 'help' key? I visited someone in hospital recently whose room was on E bay.

Me too. If I wear a watch at all, it has to be analogue!

We had another dump of snow Saturday night. I'm kinda getting tired of this.

Are you kidding? I still wear an analog watch. I'm bilingual when it comes to telling time.

It's amazing isn't it. My grandkids have no idea what time it is if it isn't digital. The car is a 2006 model. I'm surprised there wasn't a digital clock installed.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, me too. And, yes, it's my age.

Were they selling body parts? Oh my that's strange.

I have the same Beatles album. I didn't even think to photograph that as part of the challenge.

The perspective on your hospital shot is such, it almost looks like the door is on the celling. It's a little disconcerting when you first look at it until your brain unscrambles it and puts it in the right perspective for you.

Just had to replace my watch and I never even looked at the digital stuff. Forgot they existed. I'm pretty sure it's our age and our reliance on things that remind us of where we're from.

I read Paul's comment then looked at the door again. Kinda bummed because I thought it WAS on the ceiling and I was thinking you'd landed in "White Rabbit."

I think you're right. I only bought mine a few weeks ago. I haven't worn a watch for about 25 years and wanted one, almost for sentimental reasons. I chose one just like the last watch I ever wore too :)

Nice "one's", Dufus. Man, you have a lot of CD's. I digitized most of mine and boxed them.
nonamedufus said…
I just wouldn't think to buy a digital watch.

All I did with that door shot was tip the camera a bit. Funny, eh?

One pill makes you larger...

Thanks Izzy. Um, have you got the time, Izzy?

I think it might take me several years to digitize my CDs, Mike. But I'd make a lot of money selling them. I'm thinking of digitizing my vinyl collection though.
These are so great... they all made me smile. Then this one? "The clock in the car said 1 o'clock. Don't stare too long. You may have an accident. " I laughed out loud because for a split second I thought, "Oh yea!" DUHHH I'm not driving!

You did well on this theme. I have to say, I just LOVE your "hanging out" photo, I know, I know, it's not one of your theme photos, but had to tell you it's priceless!

You're funny. Glad you enjoyed my pics.

I'm a big fan of doing things a little differently

Oh, thanks, Kathy. When I first found that photo many years ago it just made me laugh it was so odd. I've used it as my avatar every since.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
