I'm not going to pick a favorite this time around as I like all of the Pope ones, especially the one with "It's a GUY thing." Oops, was that picking a favorite? Ach, well. Hey, it's good to see this back here. I know I've missed it anyway and I'm sure others have too.

I debated whether or not to resume this and with this week's Pope cartoons I couldn't resist. I like the "Cardinals" one with the "guy thing" a close second.

Leave it to the papacy to bring back the Sunday Funnies! Lovin' the Cardinals and the Pope skates!

The Catholic church has a real opportunity here to come into the 21st century. Too bad they won't capitalize on it.

Stompin' Tom? Really? I hadn't heard. Nice to see the Sunday funnies again, Dufus. Does this mean we might eventually see the return of Pause, Ponder and Pun?

Yep, Bud the Spud's six feet under. PPP? I dunno.

I feel bad for not knowing about this Stompin' Tom Connors until now. The North Korea stuff does have me a little bit concerned, by the way.

Stompin' Tom was a Canadian institution. The North Korea stuff scares me too.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy! ...
