You just had to remind us of those rules, didn't you? What a Dufus!

Experience has taunt me to measure about seven times before I cut once.

It's a dirty job but someone has to do it.

Nice angle, Doof. I meant the shot, not the rulers themselves, although those are nice too, I guess.
nonamedufus said…
I get it. Angle. Good one.

With all of those you can't have a disagreement on how long something is ;)

Interesting take on this one! Nice move, John!

Oh whether or not it's level.

Hah, great job, noname "I wanna be a boss" dufus! A word of advice, when you decide to be a boss, you might want to trade those in for an entirely new set of rules. And maybe a whip. ;)

How about this approach?

Clever little play on the "rules" prompt. I love how inventive you are for taking pictures around the house.

I'm so damn glad I didn't go with this one (one of my first thoughts). Too many RULES floating around out there and they're all beautiful. Lovely arrangement. Did you do that all by yourself?
nonamedufus said…
Just trying to stay on the straight and narrow.
nonamedufus said…
Ah, I'm glad I measured up to your expectations.
nonamedufus said…
I did indeed. Took several shots but this was my fave.

Nice photo of a bunch of rulers. I might have photographed Saddam but he's dead.

Rulers again but those are for professionals. I like the degree of your photo.
nonamedufus said…
Yeah and the travel costs are kind of prohibitive.
nonamedufus said…
Thanks. I think I have all the angles covered.

You rule, Dufus. And definitely are not a tool.
nonamedufus said…
It's a slow process...inch by inch.
ladyV said…
you rule, indeed. and what is that balance thing called.
nonamedufus said…
A level. No shit, I'm really on the level.

I always thought you were a level-headed guy. Love how you staged the shot.
I didn't even THINK in this direction... GENIUS!!!!

Nice photo, NoName.

And I hope you don't mind if I call you NoName. Most people call you Dufus, but I feel like we're on a first-name basis being friends and all. If not, please let me know, and I'll call you Mr. Dufus.

Punny, Lauren. He'll love it, trust me.
nonamedufus said…
I do, I really do.
nonamedufus said…
I come fro a long "line" of level-headed guys.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
