Excuses, Excuses

"Sorry, noname, but I tried really, really hard." What's this? The guy with an award for the best 2012 draft in the Humor Bloggers Fantasy Footbal League LOSES in Week 1? What's this? The guy with Green Bay's Aaron Rogers, the top ranked QB in the NFL (open for discussion), and who may have lost his game Sunday but nevertheless gave me 30 fantasy points LOSES in Week 1? Well, um, yeah. Those questions were kind of rhetorical, eh? I maintain it's Unfinished Person's fault. You see, Yahoo Sports got rid of their chat feature. So five of us followed UP around half the day Sunday from one chat room to another, downloading AIM-AOL chat (which didn't work), group chatting on Facebook, then at half time downloading and chatting on Yahoo Messenger. This whole incident of trying to find each other in various chat rooms was almost as entertaining as watching the football games. Well, it would have been if I'd been watching football games...

They Call Him The Breeze

by nonamedufus I don't want to talk about it. The stars certainly are not aligned to help the nebulous  nonames  make the fantasy league playoffs after our loss this past weekend - our third straight loss. But like I said: I don't want to talk about it. Your humbled servant went up against  Bourbon Blasters  this week. He came away on the wrong end of the biggest blowout of the week. What happened? This happened... "They call me the breeze" Breeze? Hell, Monday night this was the weather formation that settled over the New Orleans Super Dome as Brees racked up forty-frakin'-five fantasy points. What the hell do they put in this guy's gatorade?  45 point gale force winds Yep, Drew wasn't a breeze. He was a god-damn hurricane blowing out the  nonames  to the tune of 134-92. The playoffs are now only a remote possibility for the  nonames.  #1  Purple Drank  and #2 Predator Press  h...

To The Victor Go The Spoils

Okay, I realize I'm taking a chance here running a post about fantasy football. Whenever I do comments for some reason simply plummet. Be thankful it isn't a post of a three day Facebook thread. Those get next to no comments. But on the football thing I think people just go "Oh, no, dufus is rambling on about fantasy football again" and they cover their ears and go "la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la." But, folks, I'm doing so well these days I just had to share. I know it's not about zombies, cute dogs or cryptologists - items that have readers flock to other blogs to leave effusive comments, but, hey, give a guy a break. Look at this as dufus occupies blog street. For today, guys, hold your nose and pass the football. Yeah, that's me. They don't call me Mr. Tibbs. They call me noname "victor" dufus. In week 7 your humble fantasy football fanatic squeaked by   Future Ex-Cons   104-90. It's not the biggest margin for a win. But it's...

Biggest Blowout

So here we are heading into Week 6 of the NFL and, more importantly, into the sixth week in the land of football make-believe with that motley crew of rejects who call themselves managers of teams in the Humor Bloggers Fantasy Football League. It's been an interesting first five weeks. Let me recap. The nonames (clever name, eh?) are 3-2-0. Now don't let that mediocre score fool you. In five weeks the nonames have moved from 9th to 4th position, trailing Bourbon Blasters, Predator Press and Purple Drank all at 4-1-0. But I'm confident the nonames will continue to move forward. After all slow and steady wins the race, football championships and sexual partners. Anyway, the nonames have already kicked some serious butt in the stats department. They've won the largest margin of victory in a single week category. They're atop the most kicking points in a single week category. And they lead the best single week (474) and best season average (1748) in receiving yard...
