Is This Idea Dead On?

Interesting news last week for movie fans. Star Wars mastermind George Lucas is taking CGI to the next level. And he's digging deep to bring the latest cinematic development to the screen. I don't mean his wallet. After all, what's money to George Lucas? No he's digging deep into the graves of dead stars to resurrect them on screen.

This is a fascinating, if not ghoulish, development. Ha, I wonder if this is the only way for Mel Gibson to resurrect his film career? He's sure having trouble doing it while he's alive.

Will Lucas call his film Night of The Living Dead? Oh, right, that's been done before.

Maybe he could raise Herve Villechaize, Gary Coleman and Billy Barty from the grave for a film. I dunno. It'd probably be a short. How about a remake of Little Men?

If it's a Star Wars sequel he's planning, Chris Farley might make for an entertaining Jabba the Hut.

And Liberace might take a turn as Gay Radar, a distant cousin of Darth Vader, "Luke, I'm not your father."

How about digging up Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Maybe we'll find out whatever happened to baby Jane?

There's a big trend these days towards remakes and reimaginings of films in Hollywood. So here are some possibilities with back from the dead actors in leading roles.

Star Gores

Didn't Die So Hard After All

Full Metal Casket

No Need To Save Private Ryan

A Few Good Dead Men

It's A Wonderful Afterlife

The Undeparted

Dead and Deader

Slow and Not So Furious

Conan The Zombie

The Ghoul With The Dragon Tattoo

Not Gone in 60 Seconds (Not Gone Ever)

Face/Off, Hands/Off, Ears/Off

The Casket Crashers

God I hope George Lucas rethinks this. Lord help us if it's the next big thing!

As long as he doesn't bring Jar Jar back, I'll be OK with just about anything Lucas does.

All of these sound grand to me! But then again, I have a soft spot in my heart for the undead.

brainz!
How about:

Tell them Willie Boy is Dead
Gory Road
To Kill a Mocker
No Country for Dead Men
Gone Deadie Gone
Body of Dies
You slay me with your puns...but that's all right, George always can bring me back. :)

Cdn. Blend:I never got into the subsequent trilogy, or prequel I guess. I had to Google Jar Jar. I thought maybe he might have been a reject from the bar scene.

Quirks: You know I thought this might appeal to you for some reason. hahaha

Boom Boom: "Tell Them Willy Boy Is Dead" - love it! I should have talked to you before I wrote this post.

UR: Well, as long as you keep coming back, I don't care who brings you.

Night At The Mausoleum
Pursuit of Undeadliness
The Replacement Parts

I am a serious Sci Fi fan and all I can say is blasphemy!
I am so serious that I am thankful that I did not die before knowing whether Han Solo was going to survive the carbonite prison! We need more cult sci fi.
I am not amused.

lol
I wonder if it will be in 3D?

LOL

I can see people setting their tents up now to buy the tickets.

00dozo: There's nothing I like better than a participatory post. Those were great ones. I particularly liked Grave's Anatomy.

Bluezy: Oh I felt the same way about that carbonite thing. I wash sure he was a goner. Guess I needn't have worried. Lucas simply raised him from the dead!

Kimber: Oh it'll have to be in 3D. Absolutely.

Linda: Wow, thanks. It was fun pulling this together. I'm glad you liked it.

I'm sure the studios would love it. Living actors are such a pain in the ass to deal with.

Very clever, my friend.

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy! ...

Hello Goodbye

Today a bit of a reflective piece. Rather than being funny, this is  about the funny. It's a day of mixed emotion at nonamedufus . You see, after several months of inactivity I've dropped a couple of former blogger buddies off my blog roll. I kept hanging on and hanging on hoping they'd return to active blogging but, alas, after waiting in one case five months I've decided to let them go. I'm going to miss - going to? I have been missing - Margo at the Screaming Me-Me . She was one funny lady. From time to time she and I would engage in a feud or two for several days at a time but it was all in fun both for us and, I think, for our readers. And we'd leave each other funny comments, poking fun at each other. I miss her friendship and our humorous exchanges. The other blogger I'm letting go is Chelle, The Offended Blogger . Chelle was a special lady. In addition to her own blog she created and managed Humor Bloggers Dot Com where humour bloggers like m...

The Dangling Conversation

There's a debate underway in my household between my wife and I. I say "underway" because it hasn't quite reached the "raging" stage. If you want raging, my wife (a Francophone) and I (an Anglophone) from time to time (usually in a weak moment of my own making) slip into our number one discussion around why we don't speak more French at home - ergo - when am I, a former public servant who learned French at the expense of our gracious taxpayers and was technically rated bilingual (even though I hardly used it), going to improve my use of Canada's other language? This one never gets resolved, hence it's ongoing nature. But the current debate is over a remark I casually made the other day. I'm no geek, but with a lot of time on my hands I surf the web, converse on Facebook and such and - I have to admit - "I'm nonamedufus and I'm a Twitterholic". In an epiphany-like moment I was struck by the apparent impact of social networkin...
