And in Can-Can-Canada's Capital (damn, and my stutter was getting better too) the temperature's been sweltering for the past 4 or 5 days. I mean hot, like 30, 31C and with the humidty it feels like the upper 30s which translates into about 100F for you non-metricized Americans. But I dare not complain. Hell no. Our July stank. We had the highest level of rainfall ever in the region. Home Depot and Lowe's was running low, everyone was buying wood for their ark.
No, we can't complain because, apart from a few warm days in April(!) and maybe one in June(!!) our summer finally arrived in August. We don't have AC but our ceiling fans and oscillators have been working overtime. And our pool has never seen more use. Of course, the weird thing about that is the more the air temperature rises the more we increase the temperature in the pool. Hell, I don't want to shock myself silly with cold water when I jump into the pool. You know how you get an ice-cream headache on a hot day. Yeah, well, cool water can do that to your whole body. So the pool's up there around 86F and it's actually very refreshing. But between the fans, oscillators and the heat pump for the pool I can hardly wait to see our electric bill. Worse, THIS could happen to me!
Oh, and as for those lyrics up there, everybody's familiar with the Marilyn Monroe version from There's No Business Like Show Business. Here's a lesser known take from an equally sultry songstress...

One question though... Can Miss Piggy can-can like the sardine can?
Winky: I'm not under the influences of hot flashes but with this weather it's giving me a good sense of them.
P.S. Winky: Keep an eye out for tomorrow's post.
My electric bill is the lowest it's been since I've lived here due to the reduced need of AC.
Funny thing about it though, is I sometimes miss it...it'a a different world completely than out west...
David: Humidex said 41C = 106F today.
Canadian Blend: Been a weird summer for sure.
anditsgone46: Love Maine, often visit Ogunquit but in summer, not winter!
Good to hear the sun is finally showing
