Today is all about workers. It's the day we celebrate their economic and social contribution to society. In other words it salutes megalomaniacs because it's all about us, isn't it!
It's also the day after which one does not wear white. Unless one is Canadian and visits Florida in January to go golfing.
Why do we celebrate American or Canadian workers today when almost everything we buy is made by some guy in China?
In Canada, we spell labor l-a-b-o-u-r. That's because we're big on sheep here. In America, there's no ewe in labor. (That's a pun.)
Some of us celebrate the long labor day weekend with BBQs, burgers and beer.
The rest of us just skip right to the beer and then labor to get up Tuesday morning.
It is not the celebration of pregnant women about to give birth. Although, it could be.
And it is not the celebration of dull, tedious sex. After all, who would celebrate that.
