Most of Bob and Betty's friends found the couple engaging. Which was a good thing after a three year betrothal but no firm date set for the happy day. Not that the engagement day hadn't been happy. Nor the days since. But three years, thought Betty, this was pushing the limit. She wanted to buy a house with Bob, settle down, and have kids.
And then, without warning, Bob said they should set a date. Betty didn't have to be asked twice. So they set a date, sent invitations to family and friends, got married and set about finding a home together.
They used to laugh at all the couples on HGTV's House Hunters thumbing their noses at houses that weren't suitable or that were the wrong colour, or needed renovation work in the kitchen or bathrooms. They used to laugh. But now that it was their turn they weren't laughing.
Their agent took them to house after house at this end of town and that end of town and even out of town. Betty was moved to tears and Bob was grumpy. They both knew what they wanted but were afraid they'd never find it.
But one day, down a little street off the town's main drag, their agent showed them a cute little townhouse. It had everything they were looking for and was close to downtown, theatres and restaurants. And the price was well below their budget. They felt just like one of the giddy couples on House Hunters.
It was a good thing the price was so reasonable because while they loved the residence, it needed a little work.
Betty was a tad concerned and said to Bob "Here and there, marring the wall, I've come across a dent or a whole." "Some" said Bob. "But I can fix those with a little putty and paint, no problem."
Said Betty, searching for the right word "Then our home will truly be, truly be, truly be... salubrious!'
"You should do something about that cold" said Bob. "Need a tissue?"
Studio30+ would appear to have bit the dust. So the prompt folks, namely Tara, have moved from Studio30+ to a new site called Our Write Side. There a prompt will be offered every Tuesday under their Two Word Tuesday section. This week's prompt is salubrious/wholesome.
