30 Days of Photos - #22 - Portrait

Ha, ha, ha, what a great collection of the week's political cartoons. Where? Over on dufus daze, naturally.

****

Welcome to 30 Days of Photos. We're in the home stretch with just a week to go. Thank God! (Did I just say that out loud?) So this is where 18 bloggers are participating in posting a photo a day for 30 days. Here are the other 17 you can visit, who are equally happy there's only 7 - aw damn, Cheryl tells me there's 8 - more days, after you've been here:

A portrait with a twist...of tangerine(s), baby tomato and a banana.

Aw, why so serious?

Just one more week to go.

Great idea for this gawd-awful prompt.

I hate to burst your bubble, but someone's going to, but there are actually 8 very long soul-sucking days left to post. I am so very sorry.

You were supposed to say you chose fruits because today is "Earth Day". You would have gotten bonus cookies for that. Don't say I didn't try to help. ;)

I meant after today, but thanks a lot for rending me there Cheryl.

Ha, I never thought of that. Did you know the tomato is a fruit?

Ah dufus, dufus, dufus. If you count the days on your fingers (like I did) you'll see that there are 8 (23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30). I wouldn't harsh your mellow on purpose. It's just that numbers don't lie.
That is a GREAT idea! Indeed, why so sad! Turn that banana frown upside down!

Yeah, I knew you guys didn't want to see a picture of me, so I looked around the house and this is what I came up with. The shadows in the pic are from the afternoon sun shining in the kitchen window.

Math was never my strong suit, Cheryl. It's why I went into journalism.
It's good, but it could have been grape. (Awww, I slay myself sometimes. ;)

I didn't go into accounting on purpose, it just made sense.

A portrait and a still life all in one. What an artist you are!! I agree with Katherine, you look sad.

Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with your food?
nonamedufus said…
Boy, you stomped all over that one, Bryan.
nonamedufus said…
I am sad. There's still another week of this foolishness to go!
nonamedufus said…
Yeah! She did! How did you know? I didn't always listen to my mother, though.

Something doesn't add up here.
Wine, wine, wine: that's all I ever hear from you.
nonamedufus said…
Oh, I'm so embarrassed. Sorry. Now I'm red.
Cabernet or merlot or pinot noir or...? What shade of red? Color me white...Zinfandel.

Hah, very funny idea, dufus.
nonamedufus said…
I have them once in a while.

I'm hard "pressed" to know.

Nice humorous twist. What a fruit! heh heh
nonamedufus said…
And to think it all started with just a seed of an idea.
I'd like to know how long you spent polishing that baby tomato.
nonamedufus said…
You know, Mo, over here we call that brown-nosing and for the record there was none of that involved in this.
00dozo said…
Haha! Totally unpredictable yet fitting! At least you had fruit - I had feet (or foot - my other left foot).

;-)
00dozo said…
All right, guys. Put a cork in it already.

;-)
nonamedufus said…
Yeah, take care with that, Hop-along. I'm glad you found my photo "appealing".
nonamedufus said…
I'm "vine" with that.
Mariann said…
Yes. That is why I didn't say "fruit and vegetables".

What a face!

But where's the figure?

love the fruit smiley face!
nonamedufus said…
Orange you glad I thought of this?!
nonamedufus said…
If a person who eats veggies is a vegetarian, then what's a person who eats fruit?
meleahrebeccah said…
I sure am! Ahahahahahhaah
Nora Blithe said…
Ha! You made me laugh! Thank you.

See? I couldn't have done that with a portrait of a cat!

The Polka Dot Door

A long time ago, when I was 22, my first child was born.  That kid grew up on a little Canadian kid's show called Polka Dot Door, produced by the TV Ontario network.  And Dad, more often than not, sat through those shows with his little one. Nine or so years later when a brother, and a year after that when a sister came along number one son was moving on to Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard.  But there was a nice overlap where his siblings picked up where he had left off with Polka Dot Door.  And Dad was right there to welcome them. So you're looking at a Polka Dot Door veteran.  The show began in 1971 and ran to 1993.  I didn't watch the full run but I did get in my fair share.  The formula was pretty simple.  A young male and female host, which seemed to change every week, sang songs, told stories, made crafts and generally did their best stimulate little brains.  The show opened as follows... Imagination Day!  Oh boy!  You know what happens on Imagination D
