My mom never put peas or tuna in Mac'N'Cheese, that would have been sacrilege. She did, however, make this weird thing called "Tuna Pea Wiggle." White sauce, peas, and tuna all poured over Saltines. It was to die for (except for the peas). I've grown to love fresh raw peas and peapods and even like fresh peas lightly cooked. That crap from the cans or frozen food section will kill ya.Cherylhttp://decksidethoughts.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511081823602867774.post-36284267516256190342012-04-09T17:33:11.792-04:002012-04-09T17:33:11.792-04:00Oh, well. okay. Gag me. I did finally grow up and realize that peas are not manufactured green slugs to be put in cans. Fresh peas are actually quite tasty and inoffensive when cooked correctly. Unfortunately, my dear old Mom just wanted any vegetable cooked into a mush consistency and that pretty much turned us all of of green things for many years.Linda Medranohttp://thegoodthebadtheworse.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511081823602867774.post-57006701757485823082012-04-09T12:30:19.209-04:002012-04-09T12:30:19.209-04:00Peas are one of the vegetables I actually LOVE!Peas are one of the vegetables I actually LOVE!meleahrebeccahhttp://mommamiameaculpa.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511081823602867774.post-17154034812771806702012-04-09T12:28:34.174-04:002012-04-09T12:28:34.174-04:00I hate to admit this here, in an international for...I hate to admit this here, in an international forum that seems to be exclusively devoted to promoting the global hatred of peas, but I love peas. Canned or fresh, I feel that they are one of nature's finest foods, especially when boiled, salted and soaked in butter. I particularly enjoy eating them with mashed potatoes, gravy and a nice bit of medium rare roast beef, but I've been known to eat them on their own, as if they were a stand-alone dish. Once, and I probably shouldn't admit this, I even had a sex dream involving peas.
